David W Bowen, LLM, BSc (Hons), MRICS, FCIARB, CEDR Accredited Mediator
David is a chartered quantity surveyor and has more than 27 years experience in UK construction. He is a part-time lecturer in construction law at the University of Portsmouth and is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (local association, Hampshire). His experience includes procurement, commercial, contracts, training, facilitation, mediation and dispute resolution. David also has a Masters degree in Law (Commercial Dispute Resolution) and is a contracts specialist providing advice to the UK construction industry. David went on to train with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), while he worked for Turner and Townsend. He qualified as a Fellow of the CIARB via the mediation route. David also works in a voluntary capacity for community mediation organisations. He started mediation with Croydon Community Mediation working to resolve neighbour related disputes for housing associations and more recently has been working with Peaceworks. He has co-mediated with Dr Micha Jazz and has raised the profile of mediation through working with some schools in Hampshire.
